AlKhidmat has taken this humongous humanitarian challenge very seriously and has responded to the crises in a timely and organized manner. Perceiving the immediate needs, transitory needs, and long term needs of disaster affected people, AlKhidmat has subdivided its Disaster Management Program (ADMP) into three subdivisions a) Rescue, b) Relief, and c) Rehabilitation, in order to better manage relief work. AlKhidmat Disaster Management Units (ADMU) have been set up at the district level, while a central AlKhidmat Disaster Management Center (ADMC) provides unified control and management of all rescue, relief, and rehabilitation work: o Rescue - Evacuation of dead and injured persons and transporting to hospitals and or to their homes in other cities or villages, as well as provision of on the spot emergency medical care to the injured o Relief - Provision of food, medical care, and to affected people in collaboration. 2000 AlKhidmat volunteers provided 98,540 food packages, clean water, clothing, bedding, freshly cooked meals for 1,500 people per day, as well as thousands of tarpaulins, tents, and medicines to over 10 million people during earthquakes and floods with the government and international NGOs o Rehabilitation - Repair and construction of houses and other community facilities and handing them over to affected families, as well as provision of all necessities which will help them start a new life. AlKhidmat has built and handed over 2,069 houses to flood and quake affected families to date |
